My old car cleaning house
I owned a 2001 Toyota from 2002 until 2010 roughly. Well I kept all the records. I put them in folders in a bag in my closet after I sold the car. Well it’s time they go. I forgot how anal I could be. I kept all the records of every time I went to jiffy lube, Sears or elsewhere to change the oil or fix the breaks. I paid 45 dollars out of the money I made on sets to change the oil. I don’t miss the car. I’d rather have a scooter.
My car license plate was CRPDIM. Carpe Diem. It was Silver. Cost $20,000 and I paid $2000 a year in insurance. By the time I sold the car for $1700 I paid $20000 in insurance. That is really horrible California.
The pile on the right is all the paperwork for body work, brakes, and repairs. The pile on the left is one of the two different insurance companies I used. More insurance then actual care for the vehicle. Wow. I think that is bad. Pile on right being trashed. Pile on left most will be shredded. Owning a car kills trees.
My scooter which I crashed cost $3000 and was $1200 in insurance. I also got 90 miles to the gallon on it. I’m getting a scooter if I had the money. Someone dropped something off the back of a vehicle causing the SUV in front of me to dead stop on a green light. My brakes locked. I crashed. The new Buddy 125cc I believe has anti lock breaks.
I’m keeping the ownership papers, sale papers and proof I insured to car. The repair stuff is going buy as is the bill statements for insurance. After five years I think it’s time. Reducing the four files I have to one nice file I can easily store in a file box in the closet.
