Firearm Companies are they Violating State rights?
I can’t believe that the firearm companies are so desperate to make money that they are boycotting states that have passed laws restricting gun sales. In addition, not only are they refusing to sell to the police, but fix their fire arms? Now I don’t like guns. I know myself how selfish they can be when someone is obsessed with them. You see I grew up with a gun collector. I used to watch my father build guns from the stock up. He even paid me once to read a pamphlet on gun safety. Did not change my view on guns at all. You see parents don’t realize that a child remembers and can figure out things they may not want them to know. Also well kids are not like adults. We don’t like to lie, manipulate and well I was a good kid. I am also a retired lawyer and can’t stand the profession, so ask a lawyer who specializes in constitutional law, but well this situation makes me angry.
You see my father would stop at any gun shop we passed between Lutherville, MD and the Eastern Shore, VA when we would go see relatives. As a child I remember once being alone with my father on the road. I had to go to the bathroom. I had to go so bad it hurt, but my father needed to stop at a gun shop. I was too young to go on my own but old enough to know I had to go. He actually thought I was lying to him to stop him from shopping for guns. (I also loved “Bambi” and could not stand my father’s hobby/ obsession).
I look at the laws in the states and the actions by the firearm company and I am reminded of the pain guns represent to me personally. I also remember that though the gun people are screaming for liberty, many of those same individuals don’t respect the individual rights of the women in their lives or their children to not follow in their foot steps and to be their own individuals. I personally don’t have the right to not work for the government or the legal community and MUST apparently give up the things I love most in life or I will not be allowed to survive. I will not date men like my father so I can’t date at all or will not be allowed to. I am not allowed to get work I would be qualified and successful at and not allowed to fight to act for the rest of my life no matter HOW MUCH GUN people may see it as gambling or only want blond babes on TV. I also have to go to CHURCH and one they approve of and I can’t have my own view of who God is. Yes I believe in HER.
Now the second amendment reads: A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed. And Militia is defined as:
(a) The militia of the United States consists of all able-bodied males at least 17 years of age and, except as provided in section 313 of title 32, under 45 years of age who are, or who have made a declaration of intention to become, citizens of the United States and of female citizens of the United States who are members of the National Guard.
(b) The classes of the militia are—
(1) the organized militia, which consists of the National Guard and the Naval Militia; and
(2) the unorganized militia, which consists of the members of the militia who are not members of the National Guard or the Naval Militia. 10 USC 311
So men can bear arms, but only women in the National Guard?? I am actually fine with that, but that means that COPS who are MALE have just as much right to bear arms as the citizens and well if those citizens have allowed for laws to be past to deny them the right to certain types of arms, do the gun manufactures have the right to deny those citizens the protection of their able bodied cops who are legally allowed to? Can those manufactures be sued by a cop or government employee or citizen if they are hurt because a cop can not get his firearm repaired? The firearms are illegal to sell but that is not probably stopping crooks to acquire them in those states unlawfully. What then?
I hate guns, and violence, but what these companies are doing in my opinion has NOTHING to do with rights, and everything to do with GREED. If that is the case, can the gun manufactures be sued for the damages that may result in their boycott? Also if these states passed laws, do the states rights to sovereignty supersede the second amendment in this regards since well one could define able bodied as those men (and women) who are deemed capable of having arms under the law of the state. I personally don’t want a gun in my house. I like archery for sport and not to hunt and I never want to own a GUN. I personally only want the right to bear arms as far as being able to PLAY what ever character I can get cast no matter how limited, and frankly no matter what the REPUBLICANS in the ENTERTAIMENT industry may think- I AM AN ACTRESS and I AM A GOOD ONE and will FIGHT TO BE a good one. (In that regard I am as selfish as the firearms companies, but well my quest as an artist really does not hurt anyone but myself.) I don’t do drugs, sleep around, and I need to act as some need to breathe, and I will never understand anyone’s need to KILL anything no matter what the cost.
