Letter to David Milch
I wrote a letter to the Producer David Milch of “Deadwood.” He had given me a personal invitation to the first season wrap party and so I wanted to thank him again, and to let him know I had no interest of being on “Deadwood” again. I never spoke to him after first season, but I did go to a q&A on police story telling with the LA Film Festival. Ironically I was banned from volunteering the year after Jordan Marks had a film he produced show at the festival.
I am a nice girl who made some mistakes with men I said yes to. But that is just it. I was asked out. I was honest with who I was. People on the set of “Deadwood” knew I had a law degree. One of the extras, her husband was a lawyer and he even did a background check on me. I wanted to set the record straight. i also wanted for the new film to be a safe place for women to work.
Today I received the letter back unopened. So to make sure that the cast and crew were aware of why I did not want to come back and that I did not do anything wrong on a set, I thought I would publish the letter here. I do not think that Milch would favor my political opinion. I wish the cast well on the new movie.
